Patience is a virtue

For over a dozen years, the Laraways have raised camelids. Specializing in llamas with appaloosa (spotted) colors, the Laraways are well known nationwide as authors, showing, packing and being on "the circuit" promoting the benefits of camelid ownership and New York Llama and Alpaca Association. Several years ago, the Laraways started the process of converting their breeding operations into a nonprofit rescue operation. Hundreds of llamas (and other animals) have been rescued, rehabilitated and have gotten a new lease on life because of the generosity and caring of the Laraway family. The Northeast Llama Rescue "family" has grown into a network of dozens of volunteers with the philosophy that we can make a difference one animal at a time.  To check on the animals available for adoption, go to Available link. The website will be updated as new animals are available for adoption so make sure to add it to your address book and check it often. Please forward the site to friends as well. If you are not in the position to adopt an animal, NELR is also accepting contributions and monetary donations which are appreciated and help us continue our mission. We will also take old equipment, supplies, fencing, halters, leads, feed, hay, etc.. Thank you for your continued support, Northeast Llama Rescue can no longer continue without it.

You can also help us by purchasing llama related books and magazines through this site. Click here to do so. We thank you!
